April 30th - 15 Weeks!! :)

I couldn't believe when I logged in to the blog that it had been almost 2 weeks since I last posted, whoops!!

I received my scan disc from my 12 week scan last week and so decided to post them in to this posting too just for fun :)

Last night I was lying on the sofa snuggling Shaun watching TV when I had a little flutter in my tummy, I'm pretty sure that it wasn't gas!! It made me giggly and gooey!! Shaun got to actually hear the heartbeat on Monday at the Doctor's and loved it, beating at 134 per minutes it was nice and strong and a reassuring thing to hear.

This couldn't be any more exciting!!

April 29 - Flutters?!

Shaun and I were lying on the sofa, I had started to snooze when I felt this funky feeling in my tummy, it was like a jellyfish motion (if you can imagine that) moving across my tummy, It happened twice then faded away - At 15 weeks I'm wondering if this is possible, either way it made me giggly and excited all the same!!

The sickness is finally fading and I'm starting to feel a little less cranky, much to Shaun's relief!!

Spring is in the air, the rain has started and the grass is turning green, we are feeling very blessed knowing that this year will be our last of everything alone and we can start to get super excited about Baby Trickett's arrival. We've even been considering Christmas in the New House with a New Baby!!

I've included some bump pics from last week and this :)

Much love! xx

April 16th - Sunnyside Maternity

So today I had my second Maternity Appointment at Riley Park Maternity Clinic with the Sunnyside Group and I had a great time.

Unfortunately Shaun couldn't make it due to work but we had a great catch up when he finished work.

They checked my weight and I had only gain an ounce in the last 4 weeks, haha. So she wants me to attempt to gain some weight now, easier said than done when you want to puke every day!

I finally got to hear baby's heart beat - It was amazing! It sounded like a choo choo train, so beautiful! I cannot remember whether it was beating at 155 or 158 beats per minute but either way it was a nice strong heart beat.

The doc has prescribed me a pregnancy support belt for my back as it has been giving me a little trouble.

She also showed me how to fell the uterus which has now popped out of my pelvis and in to my tummy, hence the instant bump that seems to have protruded over night!! She also informed me that I have been moved forward, so officially 13 weeks pregnant yesterday - She said "Welcome to the Second Trimester". Big grins all round!

They have arranged to see me again on May 14th and we have our 18 week scan booked for May 28th! :)

Lots of love from the 3 of us xx

April 15 - 12 Week Ultrasound Scan!

The scan was amazing!! Shaun and I watched in awe as our little stinker already should us it's stubborn side by tucking itself in to the corner! He gave us a few hand waves and enjoyed pushing himself off the side of my uterus with both feet. Very very comical to watch!

Unfortunately the Ultrasound Technician went home for the day whilst we were attempting getting the results from the Nurse after the scan so we received one printed image and the rest were taken by us on our phone. The CD with all of the other images is on it's way to us in the mail.

March 31 - 10 weeks today!

As if I am 10 weeks along today, how amazing is that? I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would make it this far, feeling very proud that with the help of Shaun I am where I am. This means only 2 weeks til 12 week scan today. That say will be one of the happiest of my life I know!!

Had a lovely text off Dad yesterday wishing my a Happy Mom to be Day UK style, which put a very big smile on my face :)

I brought a beautiful journal on Saturday, it will enable me to record my pregnancy and look back later on at the joys of this amazing time in our lives.

Reflux has hit me big time, irritating me no matter what I drink! :(  I'm currently on a crumpet, bread and butter and everything else plain diet at the moment as the thought of all other food sickens me, never did I realize that food aversions would be this strong!! Apart from that all is well :)

Tummy Snaps

Wow... approaching 10 weeks this week and getting ridiculously excited, meaning only 2 weeks til our next scan. I thought I'd uploads some tummy pics. One some I am in my maternity pants which I am not wearing yet but they show the true shape of the tummy and the others are lying down :-)

I have been ridiculously sick the last few days and even had a 3 hour 'nap' yesterday!! I'll be a boring wife for the next few weeks still haha.

9 Weeks Yesterday :)

So, we made it to the 9 week milestone yesterday, meaning 2 weeks and 6 days til our 12 week scan. All is going well, despite the extreme fatigue, but we're hanging in there.

I have already found the most beautiful Winnie The Pooh Bedding... I am actually in love :)

Maternity Fun

I had an absolute blast yesterday on my first ever maternity wear shopping trip. The fact that it was unplanned was the best part! Shaun was at work and I'd finished early to run a few errands but ending up having lots of time to spare before picking him up. I had to dash to the mall to return something from another store that was too big and whilst in the mall I came across 'Thyme Maternity' A store that I have been avoiding (despite loving their fashion online), the thought of walking in to one scared the life out of me. Anyway... I nipped in to bite the bullet and as I did a lady approached me and started asking questions about my pregnancy, it was so surreal. To be polite and because I felt obliged, I had a wander around the store and came across a top and some capri pants for the summer so I decided to try them on just for the hell of it.

The lady informed me that they had a pretend 'bump' that you could try on with the maternity wear to see how well they adjust when you get bigger. I found this hilarious, but what a genius idea?! Off I trot feeling like a complete knob in to the room when I am greeted with a bump which is done up at the back with Velcro. It adds 3 months to your pregnancy, so at this point it shows me what I'll be like just over 5 months pregnant. I actually ended up buying this outfit in preparation for the summer seeing as though my whole pregnancy will be during this period and my current clothes are, shall we say snug?!

I thought that just for kicks I'd share this bit of fun. So here are my '5 months pregnant' pics below... enjoy!! ;-)

Maternity Clinic & Baby Due Date

What an amazing and beautiful day!!

The maternity clinic appointment went well, we discussed family history, medical history, height and weight... all of the boring stuff and then the doctor offered me another scan - I wasn't going to refuse that!!

I have attached some pics to this blog page for you to see, I am already so proud and so in love with our baby, and Shaun is too!! Such a blessing, so anyway, here you go folks out baby actually looking like a baby at 8 weeks and 2 days gestation. Heart is beating at 168 beats per minute (normal), measuring 1.72cm in length and due on October 27th 2014. Shaun is hoping that he doesn't have to share his birthday...

Much love from across this wide pond xxx

Some Random Questions...

How far along? 8 Weeks

Baby Size: 5.1mm on March 8th 2014 Total Weight Gain: 3lb's
Maternity clothes? Not yet - Clothes are pretty snug though!!
Stretch marks? Not yet!
Sleep: Lots and lots of crazy dreams at the moment, sleeping through the night from around 8:30pm to 5am... zzzzz!!
Best moment this week: I have enjoyed a complication free week, an awesome scan last Saturday and an excited Husband - No specific best moment :) Worst moment this week: Work - What a drag!! I'm so tired that work feels difficult, I could nap at 11am and 3pm...like clockwork. The Morning sickness isn't nice but I love the fact that it means that all is well :)
Miss Anything? I cannot stomach ground beef, such a big thing for us with my low iron levels too, bad times!

Food cravings: Candy - It couldn't be any worse for weight gain, but anything gummy!! I just can't help it!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: The thought of ground beef, the smell of the cafeteria at work and random things like cheese crackers!!

Have you started to show yet: Not so much, just snug work pants!

Mood? Exhausted, but freakin excited!! Roll on the 12 week scan...
Looking forward to: This weekend - Shaun is whisking me off for a lovely weekend away to Invermere in British Columbia for 2 nights of R&R, we so need this break, no holidays for us since before we lost our first baby - a very welcome break :)

March 12th 2014 - Morning Sickness... AND 8 WEEKS

Yuk!! Nauseous is not the word, since Sunday of last week I have felt constantly sick, if I fail to eat at the exact same time ever day I am ready to be sick. Copious amounts of Vitamins are being thrown down my neck and I'm struggling to get them down. I have never been so tired in all of my life either. Tiredness really is an understatement, Shaun wishes I could last past 8:30 at night but I'm sorry it's just not happening!!

Shaun bought me a lovely Journal on Sunday to write about the pregnancy and track everything it's lovely.

We also bought our first baby gift - A security blanket. We bought our first baby one too, it only felt right to treat them both the same :) This time it's a Winnie The Pooh Blanky and absolutely lovely, I keep it on the bedside table :)

This week is a major milestone for us, Trickett Bean left us at 7 weeks and 3 days last time, so we are truly blessed that we have passed this time and are heading for our maternity appointment next Wednesday, the 9 week mark. Keeping this quiet is killing us but we are wanting the best for our well being this time around. We have told close family and very dear friends that is all - I think we're doing good :)

March 8th 2014 - Another Scan, aren't I lucky?!

How spoilt was I for my birthday? Shaun treated me to an amazing spa day at the Fairmont Banff Springs and booked me in for a Maternity Massage, it was amazing for a professional to refer to me as child bearing, I can't explain the feeling of pride I felt when she was asking me questions about my pregnancy.

So today is scan number 2, Shaun is working again but fortunately they always give me a copy so I am able to share the moment with him when I get back home. Sprouts heart rate has increased from 109 to 120 beats per minute and grown another 1mm in size since the beginning of the week. Again, proud doesn't come close.

I have kindly been referred to a maternity clinic to help me along with the pregnancy given our previous loss, really pleased to have some additional support :)

We have managed to book our 12 week 5 day scan in for April 14th, we can both watch our little bear together, by this point we will be at the end of the First Trimester and well on our way.

February 28th 2014 - House Posession and Scan Day!!

Wow what a mixed day, we were up at 5am today in preparation for the house move and to pick up the U-Haul Truck for our house move, exciting times!!

So unfortunately due to the timing of the scan I had to go alone, again I was petrified, what if there was no heartbeat which can usually be detected by 6 weeks, what if the pregnancy wasn't viable - keep positive thinking Em!!

As I lay on the bed for my scan, the Sonographer asked if I wanted a peek... Erm hell yeah! For the second time as an expectant Mom, I had the privilege of witnessing mine and Shaun's beautiful creating there on the screen... yes it was tiny at only just over 4mm, but it was ours, we had done it again. What a perfect thing to witness - Most importantly, not only did our baby look perfect but his little heart was beating at 109 beats per minute - amazing!!

I walked out of that room the happiest woman alive, isn't life just amazing?!?!

February 26th, 2014 - A trip to see the Doc :)

As if it has actually been 4 days since I peed on the stick! Four mornings of waking up excited and petrified but mainly excited.

Today I visited the Doc with Emma, poor Shaun had to work :( Dr. Ali kindly but awkwardly confirmed my pregnancy (he's not my usual doc and doesn't deal with the maternity side of things usually - poor guy!).

He confirmed that I was 6 weeks pregnant based on my last LMP being January 15th 2014. I flew out of that office with a spring in my step and joy in my heart - maybe we are going to be parents after all, we are parents now even!! I have a responsibility to protect and care for our baby and I definitely will!! :)

The doc kindly scheduled an ultrasound for me to check on Sprout, booked in for February 28th. Baby will be 6 weeks and 2 days gestation - Eek!!

February 22nd, 2014 - We're Expecting!!

What a crazy moment. Today was the day of the Men's Canadian Ice Hockey for the Olympic Games. The plan was for a trip to Emma and Matt's place today to watch and join in with the celebrations (of course we're going to win!!).

Shaun and I awoke this morning, I was an absolute wreck crying my eyes out to him in bed at 7am - after much questioning from Shaun, I explained to him that I just "felt" pregnant. I think that Shaun thought that I was off my rocker!! I was petrified after the loss of Trickett Bean on October 10th, 2013 I was scared to death that the test could be positive.  Off to the pharmacy we went after the hockey match - and yes OF COURSE WE WON THE HOCKEY!!

We arrive back home and within 30 seconds I was in the bathroom peeing on the stick, after much shaking, the test read positive. That was it, I was emotional wreck and an absolute mess of emotions - Poor Shaun!! He held me tight and told me that all would be okay, he was so excited. I was too, but scared in equal measure. After much conversation and reasoning with Emma, I was ready to accept that this was going to be okay... Shaun knew from the beginning that all would be okay, he already had the paternal instinct, so proud!!
